Oh, but those aren't maggots, they're meal worms... beetle larvae, they eat starchy things like flour... and are not nearly as GROSS as maggots (fly larvae) that eat rotten or dead stinky things.... And meal worms ARE totally edible whereas maggots I'd consider a health risk...
Of course they squirm just the same.......

Yeah, you know that, and I know that, but the general American TV-viewing audience doesn't know that... especially back in 1989 or whenever this originally aired. ;)
