This is just for yuks, folks; what you see is what you get. I'm not expecting to get rich with this. So far, all I have is the "NO BLEEN" sign on some shirts & stuff. I'll be adding more, I'm sure.
And hey, if you have suggestions for more merchandise ideas that I could actually design (and you'd want to actually buy), I'll be happy to listen. Comment away!
Just a quick note before I forget again... I finally received a check for $43.00 from CafePress this week, from the Cute Underground store I ran back in December. So, I'll be disbursing $21.50 each to MVHS (in the form of pet supplies) and the Cute Overload Tip Jar (in the form of... um... AN ICE HOVERCRAFT! ...or maybe just a tip) sometime this weekend.
So, my question to those of you who ordered & received YAY or SUPERFLUFF merchandise is: How's it working out for you? Happy with the quality? What do you think of it?
For the month of December 2006, the Cute Underground fan store was able to generate a total of $43.00 in sales profits. This means, $21.50 will go to the MN Valley Humane Society, probably in the form of pet food and/or litter. $21.50 will also go into the Tip Jar over at Cute Overload.
Once the check arrives from CafePress (after the built-in 45-day delay), I'll distribute this little bit of wealth. In the meantime, I'll just say that the reason I'll be closing MY store is that I've heard there are plans to open a more OFFICIAL store in the indeterminate nearish future, and I wouldn't want to muddy up anybody's brand, y'know.
Don'cha love rumors? It's like I'm my own little ThinkSecret! Whee.
I've just added the design above to the Cute Overload Underground store.
Many items still have the original Yay! graphic, but I've used Fluff Dog on others, where it seemed appropriate. Also check out the newly-added TEDDY BEAR. w00t!
(Yep, I really love them links.)
I just checked on Teh Merch (order/sales reports on my CafePress). I'm going to wait until I can tally up the commission earnings for all of December before distributing any money, but as things stand today, I'll be able to drop at least $20 into the Cute Overload Tip Jar, and donate at least $20 to the MN Valley Humane Society.
If I can manage the time, I'll try & add some design options, from stuff that I've done... and if I'm really clever & ambitious, I'll do up some new stuff. I've got a pretty good concept for the coffee mugs, for instance. I really want to make this experiment work, so hey, if you have suggestions/requests for designs, add a comment under this post. Remember, though, I'll need to pull from my own stuff only, not Cute Overload's. Although, since some of my photochops (etc.) are BASED on C.O. material, I expect I'll have to research & work out some permissions & agreements anyhow.
Thanks so much, peeps! Especially to those of you who've placed orders. (It's cool to learn real names, by the way.)
Mariser was clever enough to spot a CafePress coupon. It's $5 off on orders over $20; not too shabby, while it lasts. You should be able to use this on Cute Underground orders! Here 'tis:
coupon code is: CAMERAJEANS
enter at checkout, blah, blah, yadda. you know the drill.
linky goodness: http://www.cafepress.com/couponcodes
PS -- total of $23 raised so far, since yesterday, from 4 orders. Thanks, peeps! Keep 'em coming!
PPS -- Looks like CafePress DOES SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. You can check out this page for a little info.
Hey peeps --
This is going to be a total linkfest. Ready? Braced? OK.
I've got my own areas of strength, experience, and expertise. I don't count marketing among those. Be that as it may, I've just thrown together a CafePress store, in time for the holiday season. For now, there's just one design, based on my old "YAY!" collage:
I've got, oh, letsee, too many kinds of T-shirts (for men, women, and kids), a couple of mugs, a couple of bags, and even a DOG-SIZE T-SHIRT. Medium-sized dog, probably.
Yeah, I'm calling it Cute Underground. Because I'm so darn edgy. And everybody KNOWS "the underground" is all about fundraising. Yep.
Speaking of fundraising, after CafePress' hefty cut (well, to be fair, they do all the heavy lifting on the retail side), I'm splitting all profits evenly between the Cute Overload Tip Jar and an animal- or pet-related cause. This could be some kind of charity, shelter, educational institution, etc. I haven't 100% decided where that money will go, but I'm leaning heavily toward the MN Valley Humane Society. They're the folks with whom I'm doing the kitty-fostering. I'm open to suggestions, and we can use the comments under this post for updates & discussion.
Just to be clear, this is not an "official" Cute Overload online store. I just up and did it, because I felt like it. But I really do think it can do some good. So check it out! Once again, that link is:
Thanks! Now, go git you some gifts!!
