dewd. that's as much fetch as a cat is ever going to do...

[aside] I suppose this means that Bou&family have found another foster home. best of luck to them.

richochet. what a purrfectly appropriate middle name.

:-)

He is so pretty! I love his kitten enthusiasm...and his purr is music to my kitty deprived ears.

A former roommate's cat would play fetch with the rings from milk jugs or beer caps - real fetch too. It was a blast!

Awww, I could watch that over and over again. He's so playful and beautiful and I love his name.

feh. must have been raised by/with dogs.

I'm so glad you have Rikki to bring you much joy after the rollercoaster.
Rikki rules now.

mariser I bet to differ with you, my friends cat plays fetch, however it is a rescue so we can't be sure if it has any canine affliation.

teho & jaye - what a bundle of love he is. give him a kiss for me and thanks for all you did with bou...

some cats do play fetch and one of ours Tuffy loved to blay with balls, his favorite was a super ball but he also really enjoyed it when the girls where in softball and we would be playing catch. He liked to chase the grounders.

Raised by a dog? Not even. ;>)

WeeGee (the Tiny Terror - 5 pounds of Alpha Cat) was found in my sort-of basement by Yours Truly as a mere postage stamp of a kitten.

She fetched and returned small felty balls without any prompting from me (or any dog). She even played badminton with me - I'd shoot the ball at her and she'd bat it back.

When I'd accidently overshoot her, that would be when she fetched! She was tireless in this particular pursuit.

Nowadays, she's become more dignified, I guess. She only brings me socks that have escaped somewhere else in the house.

awww! what a spaz! I love it! :)

Meep! *bonk*

that was my favorite part!

All the best cats have expandable names.

I guess Vox ate my comment about how bee-you-ti-ful Rikki is and how Mr. Bounce just has another reason to be jealous. :>/

Meep! *bonk* indeed! :>D

He's getting the drift of fetch. I mean, he gets close. He's just a kitter! In time, he'll be a crazed fetcher!

Not that he really needs to be anything but ADORABLE. In spades!

That was funny, lauo.

Yay, for Rikki and pawsitive energy. You all deserve lots of purrs.

Both of my cats play fetch, or have played fetch in the past. Caramel would want to play for HOURS before I got Belladonna (Hey.. she's a pretty lady, and she's as evil as she is adorable. And that's a lot of evil.) Her favorite toy, to this day, is a plastic snappy ring that used to keep my measuring cups together. That thing has teethmarks all around it, now. She'd trot up to me with it in her mouth and drop it right next to me with this "Play, Mommy!" look on her face. *Fwip* Goes the ring. *ZOOM!* Goes the cat. She wouldn't even bat it around when she got it. She'd immediately pick it up and trot back to me. Rinse and repeat for about 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Bella, on the other hand, still plays fetch with me, with the same toy. (Or one of my thick black hair ties. They love those.) I haven't yet figured out if it's true "fetch" or if it's "Hey, Mommy! Look what I found!" *fwip* Goes the toy. *ZOOM!* Goes the cat. A few seconds later... "Hey, Mommy! Look what I found!" And... repeat. She'll keep that up until she forgets to bring the toy back, and then she'll curl up in my arms and sleep for a bit.

As far as I know, neither cat has been around dogs much. They're both shelter cats, and I got Caramel at a year old, but Bella was a wee fluffball of 4 months. Some cats just... like to play fetch.

I love the little purrmeow! Just like his mommy only in a higher pitch! Hard to believe how dark his edges have gotten: http://teho.vox.com/library/photo/6a00c2252668128e1d00d4142a91346a47.html

My kitty BooBoo used to play fetch with a wine cork. She'd chase and fetch it up and down a steep flight of stairs as long as I'd play. I would make her stop when she was panting so much I was afraid she'd have a kitty heart attack! She lived to almost 20, though, so I guess the exercise was good for her :-)
It's good to see The Rikkster and his dad having such a good time today!
I have two cats that play fetch, but only with certain toys. They also don't usually bring the toys all the way back; they'll just drop them a couple feet from us. Edmund likes his little beat-up mouse or a toy lion, and the Peach likes fuzzy balls (really any sort of little ball). I haven't found out if Pablo likes fetch yet. He still plays mostly by himself.
Both our cats played fetch spontaneously. My mom's cat demanded half an hour every morning in the living room, with gray mousie.

TK always drops the ball behind our feet.

I'm glad Rikki's gotten to go back to the ancestral homestead.

I looooove his meows!

HAHA! I love the little running tumble at the very end.

awwh what a cutie that tail is worth a thousand words!
Playing fetch depneds on the breed. Reilly, aka Pookie Head Wilson, a Maine Coon from a shelter, plays fetch. The game is for the human to toss the mouse up the stairs, Reilly runs, catches and returns said mouse at my feet. He also must "do a trick" by rolling over like a dog before any kibble is dropped in his bowl. My other cat thinks we are nuts.
