Nert Gingrich.

Ok, Nert. QUIT considering running in the election of 2008. Just don't even bother.
What a bigoted moron! I keep having to remind myself that we still DON'T live in a country where racial prejudice is just a memory. But for someone in his position to say such a STUPID thing like that..... Maybe I need to re-register my part affiliation. The Republican party has become SO shameful and embarrassing, at least in the current administration. And I am not a political kind of person in the least. But something like this is transparently obvious to even the MOST politically ignorant citizen. It makes me feel like I need to take a shower to wash the "Republican" offa me. eeewww
Oops...That shoulda been "party" affliation
Whether Newtie likes it or not, the Hispanic community is the fastest growing minority in this country. How long should we live in denial that Spanish is a very common language in this nation? Shall we just stick our fingers in our ears and go *lalalal I don't understand spanish therefore I can't hear it and it doesn't exist*?
CP-I think that news bite was basically a loud chorus of LaLaLa.
What a maroon.
Yes. And I normally wouldn't use this sort of metric... y'know... but even George W. speaks Spanish.
Well, hell, let's just change to Spanish and forget about English. If 'W' can do it, we all can.
It's this kind of dumbass intolerant holierthanthou assholes we have leading our country and representing US to the rest of the world.
It has GOT to change.
I SINCERELY hoped that Shrub speaks Spanish better than he speaks English, but according to my bilingual coworkers, he makes just as many hysterically funny errors there too. His mispronunciations cause him to say some truly startling things in the vernacular, apparently.

To modify one of my favorite speeches from "The American President":

[Gingrich's] problem isn't that he doesn't get it. [Gingrich's] problem is that he can't sell it! We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, [Newt Gingrich] is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections. You gather a group of middle-aged, middle-class, middle-income voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family and American values and character. [And complain about what language people speak] and you scream about patriotism and you tell them, [they're] to blame for their lot in life, and you go on television and you call [them names].
